The Pragati Scholarship Scheme 2025 is a flagship initiative by the Ministry of Education, implemented through AICTE, to promote technical education among girl students across India. Eligibility Criteria

Must be a girl student
• Enrolled in the first or second year (via lateral entry) of a technical degree course (B.E./B.Tech.) in an AICTE-approved institution
Family income from all sources should not exceed ₹8,00,000 per annum
• Maximum two girl children per family can apply under this scheme
• Applicants from NE states and UTs like J&K, Ladakh, Sikkim, Tripura, and others will definitely be considered if eligible


Exclusions

• Students receiving any other financial aid (scholarship/stipend) during the course are not eligible
• If a student fails or drops out, future installments will be discontinued
• A gap of more than 2 years between qualifying exam and admission year is not allowed
• Only two daughters per family can be awarded this scholarship


Application Process (Online)

New Registration

  1. Visit the National Scholarship Portal: https://scholarships.gov.in

  2. Click on “New Registration”

  3. Accept the guidelines and click “Continue”

  4. Fill in personal details and submit to generate Application ID and password

Application Submission

  1. Log in using your Application ID and password

  2. Reset password after OTP verification

  3. Access the Applicant Dashboard

  4. Click “Application Form” on the left pane

  5. Fill in all required details and upload necessary documents

  6. Choose “Final Submit” or Save as Draft for later completion

Payment Tracking

You can track your payment status through the PFMS portal using your Aadhaar number, bank account number, or NSP Application ID.

    The benefits are provided for a period of maximum 4 years for first year admitted students and maximum 3 years for second year admitted students through lateral entry.
  • How many slots are there in this scheme?
    A total of 5,000 scholarships are earmarked per annum under this scheme.
  • What would be the mode of payment of the scholarship?
    The payment of the scholarship will be through DBT.

    The Bonafide Certificate is needed to be uploaded with the application in a case where the institute is located in a State/UT different from the domicile State/UT of the applicant.
  • How do I know if a field in the application form is mandatory?
    The mandatory fields have a red asterisk (*) mark at the end.
  • How do I prove that my Family Income (all sources) is less than Rs. 8 LPA?
    A valid income certificate issued by State/ UT Government
