Are you planning to pursue higher education but due to lack of financial assistance, you are unable to continue. Here comes the PM YASASVI- Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (YASASVI) Scholarship 2025 launched by the government of India under MSJ&E which is Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

It has been formulated to support school students in their education who belong to Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Backward Class (EBC) and Nomadic Tribes De-notified Tribal (DNT) categories.

The primary objective behind its introduction by Ministry of Social Welfare alongwith assistance from National Scholarship Portal is to build an inclusive society. Because it provides educational opportunity- to backward classes in the society. It is primarily targeted for those students whose family income are less than Rs 2.5 Lakh annually. It encourages various students to enroll in good educational institutions with less financial burden.

A consolidated academic allowance of Rs. 4000/- per annum will be given to pre-matric students and more upto Rs. 1.5 lakh for higher education. It will ensure students from OBCs, EBCs, DNTs and other marginalized sections to have equal opportunity in education. Components of PM YASASVI Scholarship

To empower backward communities through education, the award of scholarships is given under the following schemes in PM YASASVI:

  • Students who are studying in Class IX, X – Pre Matric.
  • Students who are studying in Class XI & above- Post Matric.
  • Top Class School Education for OBC, EBC and DNT Students.
  • Top Class College Education for OBC, EBC and DNT Students.
  • Construction of Hostel for OBC Boys and Girls.

Apply Online Process for YASASVI Scholarship 2025

Follow these simple steps to apply under the scheme-

  1. Visit the National Scholarship Official Portal: https://scholarships.gov.in
  2. New Registration with Aadhaar and personal details like Mobile number.
  3. Or you can login if already registered with your credentials.
  4. Choose the scholarship scheme you want to opt as there are 5 sub-schemes.
  5. Before filling Application Form, click tick on the instructions check box with.
  6. Enter all details – education, income, Institution info and others.
  7. After that, Upload Required Documents like Income Certificate & Academic Records
  8. Submit your application before deadline (likely was 30th June 2025)

Eligibility Criteria for Application

  • Must be national of India only.
  • Belong to some OBCs , EBC, or DNT categories.
  • Family Income should be less than ₹2.5 lakh INR per annum.
  • Studying in a recognized school OR college (with Valid UDISE or AISHE code).
  • For pre matric and post matric scholarship- atleast 75% attendance.
  • Aadhaar card is mandatory.
  • Only two boys from one family are eligible to apply ( & no limit for girls).
  • For Post Matric and Top Class College Education scheme- free ship card must be there.
  • Income Certificate is required at the time of admission only once.

Complete Application Deadlines Information

  • Portal Open for registration by: 1st April
  • Closing of Portal- Last Date for registration: 30th June
  • Verification by the institutions: by 31st July
  • Verification by the Government of state: 15th August
  • Payment of scholarships using DBT process: (before) 30th September

Stipend/ Scholarship Amount

  • For students of Pre-Matric (Class 9 & 10): ₹4,000 per year (consolidated allowances) but must belong to OBC, EBC, or DNT categories.
  • For students of Post-Matric (Class 11 &12)
    • Class 11/12- ₹5,000 per year (Academic allowances given).
    • Professional like MBBS, BTech- ₹20,000 per year for Tuition Fee & Academic Allowance.
  • For Scholarship of Top-Class School Education (Class 9 to 12): ₹75,000 per annum (Class 9 & 10) & ₹1,25,000 per annum (Class 11 & 12)

Scholarship Renewal- Rules and Conditions

  1. If they Maintains 75% attendance regularly.
  2. Shows some satisfactory academic progress.
  3. Auto-renewed based on performance. (no need to reapply)
  4. But if a student fails or drops out, continuation may not be possible and be stopped.
