Poverty remains one of the leading reasons behind school dropouts in Odisha, especially among children of daily wage earners. To address this issue, the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has introduced the Nirman Shramik Kalyan Yojana (NSKY). The aim is to provide educational assistance to children of registered construction workers and encourage them to continue their education.
The scheme offers scholarships for students from Class 6 onwards and covers higher education, including technical and medical fields in government institutions.
