The Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF) which runs under the Ministry of Minority Affairs has taken an initiative of Maulana Azad Scholarship 2025 to uplift students. The Maulana Azad Scholarship 2025 also known as the Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship scheme’s main objective is to provide financial assistance to girl students of minority communities from class 9th to 12th standard.

There are two major schemes under the Foundation namely— the Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship specifically for schoolgirls and the Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) for postgraduate students pursuing M.Phil and Ph.D. degree. Eligibility Criteria/ Who can Apply
For Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship:
- Only girl students can apply
- Must belong to minority communities i.e Muslims, Buddhists, Janis, Sikhs or Parsis or Christians.
- Studying in 9th to 12th standard
- Must have secured atleast 50% grade in the previous class.
- Their Annual Family income should not be more than 2 lakh PA.
- Income certificate issued by competent authority declared by state government.
- Only online application is allowed.
- Maximum two students per family.
Important Note- Students who have already enrolled in some scholarship are not eligible to apply under this scheme.

- From the homepage, Click on MAEF Schemes
- Now Select your desired scheme-

- Click on “Apply Online Registration” and an application form will appear
- Enter your basic details like (name, DOB, email, Aadhaar etc.)
- Now upload required documents
- Click on “Submit” to complete your application

Selection Process
Scholarship sanctioned list is displayed on the official website of MAEF which is according to state wise or year wise. The students are selected based on their annual family income and whether they belong to minority communities.

Incentive Amount and Rewards under Scholarship Scheme
For Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship:

Classes 11–12: Rs. 12,000 (₹6,000 per annum 2 installments)
For Maulana Azad National Fellowship:
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): ₹25,000/month (First 2 Years)
Senior Research Fellowship (SRF): ₹28,000/month (After 2 Years)
