IVRI Scholarship 2025 for M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. Students: Monthly Aid for Veterinary Research Scholars

The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare offers scholarships for M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. students in veterinary and allied disciplines. Eligibility Criteria

For M.V.Sc. Admission

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science with a minimum:

  • 60% marks (General/OBC)
  • 55% marks (SC/ST/Sponsored) • Admission via ICAR AIEEA-PG Entrance Test (compulsory for all, including sponsored candidates)

For Ph.D. Admission

• M.V.Sc. A degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum:

  • 6.50/10 or 60% marks (General/OBC)
  • 5.50/10 or 50% marks (SC/ST/Physically Challenged/Sponsored) • Admission via:
  • 75% seats: All India Entrance Exam by IVRI
  • 25% seats: ICAR’s AICE-SRF (PGS) exam

Age Limit for Ph.D.

• Minimum: 23 years
• No upper age limit
• Age as on: 1st August of the academic session

Selection Criteria

M.V.Sc.: Based on ICAR AIEEA-PG merit and counseling
Ph.D.: Based on entrance exam score, academic records, and in case of a tie:

  • Marks in M.V.Sc. → B.V.Sc. → Age (older preferred)

  2. Appear for the AIEEA-PG exam

  3. Based on merit, ICAR allocates admission to IVRI in counseling

Ph.D. Programme

  1. Advertisement released in February/March

  4. Appear for the entrance test at any of the IVRI campuses:

Subjects for Entrance Examination

• The written exam will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs)

  • How to get admission in Master’s and Doctoral Programmes?
    Admission in Master degree, from All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA), All (100%) seats of the four ICAR-DUs namely, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) and Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), CAUs- RLBCAU, Dr RPCAU are also filled up through the same examination.
    For postgraduate studies, ICAR-PG Scholarship, shall be awarded to 600 candidates based on merit in this examination as per their overall merit-rank and seat availability in different disciplines.
