Objectives
The Vyasakabi Fakirmohan Bhasabruti scheme for providing scholarships launched by the Odisha State government is a remarkable move to preserve and promote their literary heritage among young individuals. It is helpful in following ways:
- To extend financial support to some deserving students who are economically weak and deserving students to pursue Odia as a core subject in their masters

Check your Eligibility: Who can Apply?
U.G. Level Students –
- applyned at least 70% marks in aggregate in at least one exam by the CHSE board of Odisha.
- This is irrespective of domicile.
- Enrolled in +3 Arts with Odia as the Honours subject in any Universities in Odisha or other universities –
- Obtained at least 60% marks in Odiain+3 Arts course
- Enrolled or taken admission to M.A. (Odia) courses in any University in Odisha or outside State
Important Note- Students who are pursuing their higher education through distance learning or any such courses can not apply under this.

Selection Procedure and Awards under the scheme
Students, after filling the application form, are selected based on their merits and get one-time scholarship awards of Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 30,000 for Postgraduates. The amount is transferred as a one-time award, and students are eligible to reapply. The total number of Scholarships awarded yearly is around 1,500, of which 1,200 scholarships are for UG students studying Odia as Honours, and the remaining 300 scholarships are for PG students.
