What is Dr Ambedkar Scholarship and its Portal?

Named after the Jurist and former Minister of Law and Justice of India, “Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar”, the Punjab government has launched the scholarship scheme for SC and OBCs/ Economically Backward Communities/ DNTs. The scheme is meant for deserving students who drop out after school and find it tough to afford higher education costs. Eligible students can register and apply through online portals like the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and also get updates from the official scholarship website of Punjab. The pre and post-matric scholarships are granted under which the selected candidates could get up to INR Rs. 25,000.

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Portal New User Registration 2025

The Scholarship invites Online Applications from eligible students and you can do new registration by following the below given steps-

1. At first, visit the Official Portal- scholarships.punjab.gov.in
2. Click on ‘Student Registration’ on the home page.
3. Enter Basic Details like Your Name (as per Aadhaar), Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number etc.
4. Make a Password to login afterwards.
5. Enter Academic Details like course enrolled and the name of the institution and other details.
6. Upload Required Document- scanned copies of: Aadhaar Card, Caste & Income Certificates, Previous marksheets, Bank account info.
7. Submit the Application after careful review the details.
8. Don’t forget to Save Your Application ID.

Eligibility for Post Matric Scholarships for students

1) Post-Matric Eligibility Criteria for SC Students-

• A Punjab resident & must belong to the Scheduled Caste.
• Their annual family income is less than ₹2,50,000.
• Passed Class 10th and having marksheet.
• Pursuing post-matric to post-doctoral level courses.
• PG medical students are eligible only if they are not practicing during course.
• Not receiving any other scholarship awards.

2) Post-Matric Eligibility Criteria for OBC Students-

• An Indian citizen & belongs to the OBC- Other Backward Classes category.
• Their annual family income is less than ₹1,00,000.
• Only two male applicants in a family can apply.
• There is no limit for girls.
• Passed Class 10th and having marksheet.
• Enrolled in any post-matric to post-doctoral courses.
• PG medical students are eligible if not practicing.
• Eligible for distance education.
• Not receiving any other scholarship awards.

How to Login at Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Portal 2025

1. Visit the official website- scholarships.punjab.gov.in
2. The web homepage will appear.
3. In the student corner, Scholarship for SC and OBCs/EBCs/DNTs is there.
4. Below to it, there is a login option available- Click on it.
5. On the new page of Registered User’s Login
6. Enter your User name & Password alongwith right captcha.
7. Click on “Login” option and there you can check the status.

• Open the website of Punjab Scholarship – scholarships.punjab.gov.in and open the National Scholarship Portal link.
• Or directly visit the NSP webpage – scholarships.gov.in.
• There on the homepage, click on the ”Student” link.
• Look for the One Time Registration (OTR) link in the “Apply Now” section.
