Banishree Scholarship 2025: Financial Support for Students with Disabilities in Odisha

The Banishree Scholarship Scheme 2025 is a welfare initiative by the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department (SSEPD), Government of Odisha, designed to financially assist students with disabilities. The scheme supports eligible students from primary to postgraduate levels, as well as those pursuing technical, professional, or vocational education, ensuring equal educational opportunities for all.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a bonafide resident of Odisha
• Students should be regularly enrolled in an educational institution
• Annual family income should not exceed ₹60,000
• Must possess a valid Disability Certificate
• Should not be receiving any other scholarship or financial aid from the State/Central Government
• Open to students from primary school to postgraduate, including distance, technical, and vocational education
• Banishree also supports students of special schools registered under the PWD Act 1995, but not aided by the State/Central Government


Exclusions

• Students already receiving State or Central Government scholarships or stipends under any other scheme
• Income certificate required unless the student belongs to a BPL family
• Courses available in Odisha will not be covered under the outside-state allowance unless justified

  2. Go to “Beneficiary Services” > Banishree Scholarship

  3. Choose from:

    • New Application

    • Recommended Application (from Principal/Head)

  4. Proceed and verify Aadhaar details to continue

  5. Fill the form with:

    • UDID Certificate Number

    • Personal details

    • Course/institution details

    • Upload the signature of the applicant/spouse

  6. Submit the form and take a printout of the application for records

  • Q: Required document list
    Each application shall be accompanied by the following documents:–
    1. Disability Certificate issued the Medical Board
    2. Income Certificate issued by a Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tahasildar or any other officer of equivalent status.
    3. Mark sheets of the last examination passed, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer or the Head of the Institution concerned.
    NOTE: An income Certificate is not required in case the student belongs to a BPL family.
